Fabricants will live on-chain ideally as NP dissolves into the monolith ether

This was a hard decision for the team and we would like holder feedback so please read on.
We are proud of the effort and especially art that NEON PLEXUS spawned. We worked tirelessly through launch into a crypto/nft winter. We never distributed any of the art sale proceeds to the team (see below).
We really enjoyed the moments we had as a community and the puzzles we had throughout the development process and sharing some of the inside process of our tools. In the end we lost how we would regain momentum to support our vision, but we aspired to find a way until recently with prototypes and concepts.
The plan will be to dissolve the project and let NEON PLEXUS live on in the ether on its own merits. Outlined below is the high level plans that are subject to change based on HOLDER feedback.
Current Plans

- The treasury holds roughly 61 ETH and 100 Fabricants
- 5% / 3.05 ETH will be distributed to the sound artist for the NEON PLEXUS soundtrack and the music box prototype tracks as she was our primary creative content creator outside of pixel
- 50% / 30.49 will be distributed to pixelpolyn8r for the epic and tireless work he did on the project
- 45% / 27.44 ETH will be distributed to 0xcompbow for all the COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) which totaled to about 35 ETH. Mostly composed of content, marketing, and operational costs and fees.
- Any ETH needed to complete the plans outlined below will come from 0xcompbow (new sale contract, transfer fees, hosting, …).
- 100 treasury Fabricants distribution approach will be determined by the active holder community over the next week or so. Please follow discord holder fab-announcements and share your ideas in the nexus holder channel. This includes #399 and #407 (see below) https://opensea.io/neonplexus-override-deployer
- All secondary market fees will be removed
- 0xcompbow will keep a copy of the source, art assets, and collection images as a backup as needed
- 0xcompbow will continue to support and hangout with the community via Twitter and various shared communities
- We will shutdown the Discord server once all the plans are resolved in the coming weeks or months. We will also close all other social accounts, but again you can always follow and reach out to 0xcompbow on Twitter
Incomplete Mint
We would like to see if the community is interested in a method to complete the mint in some way. It could be fun to see everything that isn’t minted. The roughly 8000 Fabricants that are un-minted are also pretty epic, but we wanted to get holder feedback on potential plans. React to the plans that you would agree with and feel free to share your own ideas in Discord holder fab-announcements.
Plan A: K.I.S.S.
- Remove ability to Mint and limit supply to the current supply which is 1006 Fabricants as of today. If the supply happens to be close to the total supply in the coming weeks or month we would likely just mint anything remaining to finalize a full 9K supply.
- Decide and implement how to host the Fabricant assets long term. Currently thinking IFPS, but Arweave is interesting option. Feedback welcome like always. We also likely fine just hosting on paid CDN because the costs are reasonable. NFT PNGs (2000x2200, 1000x1100, 500x550, 250x275), NFT Metadata, and Audio (NEON PLEXUS — Override.wav).
- Set NFT Contract Base URI to the new asset URI currently http://cdn.neonplexus.io/collections/neon-plexus-override/terminal/metadata/{token_id_1_to_9000}
- Set Sale Contract address on NFT Contract to null address to disable ability to mint
Plan B: 2 Phase Holder + Public Free Mints
Intent is to complete the 9000 Fabricant mint without need of overly complex changes.
- Create a new Sale Contract
- Phase 1: Holder Only Free Mint via etherscan.io
- Phase 1: Limit to 3 Free Mints Per Fabricants 1 through 1006
- Phase 1: Start 12/10/2022 next Saturday assuming no technical issues
- Phase 2: Public Free Mint via etherscan.io
- Phase 2: Limit 5 Fabricants Per Address
- Phase 2: Start 1/1/2023
- End both Phases 2/1/2023
- Notify Discord fab-announcements Plan, Start, and Completion
- Then complete Plan A after mint deadline passes

We are open to license feedback for the art also. Could be CC0 if holders want that, or something like uwucrew approach if rights will be focused on holders https://bit.ly/uwu-lic . Some pros and cons here for holders to keep in mind, but we want to support what makes sense for the holders overall.
Closing
There was no good way to share the news here, but we want to share at least how much we respect the community and the feedback they have provided along the way.
We also greatly appreciate the artists and communities that supported us along the way. Feedback right now is most critical and useful. We are an open minded team and would love additional thoughts on other plans and even ideas around anything previously mentioned today.
